You couldn't have got more last minute than this, but a quick decision to fly up Edinburgh on a late Friday night was called for to see my favourite comedienne Ava Vidal.

Ava's appearance on Michael McIntryre's BBC Comedy Roadshow last year introduced herself as a single mum of two who made her way as a prison officer. Ava's Fringe set, situated at The Stand Comedy Club, indulges further into her life of a HIV scare after a failed relationship with ex-Henry and making sure she's cleared up the confusion for her daughter's friends with a VT clip of herself singing along to Beyonce in X-Factor style embarrassment.
