Earth Hour only started in 2007, firstly starting in Sydney, Australia where 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change. Just a few years later, Earth Hour has spread, mainly with the use of social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook to where approximately 126 countries are now participating in this annual event.

I like to do my bit therefore the lights went off along with as many house-hold appliances as I could (which included the movie I was watching) and put the candles on for an hour to mark the occasion. Of course, I couldn't turn the iPhone off as I was following the global events on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
