Vax Floorcare

IE Design

During my employment at IE Design Consultancy Ltd, one of their biggest clients at the time was Vax Ltd, a vacuum and carpet cleaning manufacturer based in Droitwich, Worcestershire. IE Design won the pitch to deliver brand guidelines, packaging design, interactive media, exhibition design and e-commerce web design.

During the first six months of my employment at IE, the design team provided the visual layouts of the new e-commerce website of which the development team built a structured, bug free, transactional website. As of September 2006, Vax overtook Dyson and become the number one floorcare specialist in the UK.

Vax Ltd

As of late August 2008, I joined Vax Ltd as Systems and Web Manager to continue my role in the Marketing department. The website is not only the first point of online sales but it also integrates with internal warehouse and account systems by Microsoft Great Plains. This allows real-time stock levels to be populated along with automatic generated invoices. Vax also have an internal call centre which uses a system called 'Heat' from Frontrange Solutions. This is also integrated with the Vax website to process orders on behalf of a customer.

Along with managing all these systems, once a month Vax's in-house design team would provided a email template design which was then sliced and created into an XHTML/CSS template and sent out to over 60,000 customers who had opted-in to the mailing list, using online software called OEMPro. The targeted email offers where then linked back to special offers located on the Vax website.
