Henley & Barr
Henley & Barr aim is to deliver the very best in service as well as products. With over 20 years involvement in the equestrian world they are passionate about their products and aim to stock as many as possible designs, manufactured in the UK.
Henley & Barr had already begun the promotion of their first product range; Faux Fur Boot Liners, by applying to local newspapers and magazines with their advert directed at the equine industry. They then realised that they do not have a website for the domain name that they started to circulate.
Hardbyte re-arranged all current projects and cleared the decks and started design concepts for Henley & Barr's first website. After design sign off, development was soon in progress for this 5 day deadline!
Hardbyte successfully delivered:
- Design: Website design layout
- Development: Structured PHP and MySQL database driven website
- SEO: Meta data and search engine submission
- W3C Standards: Valid HTML, CSS, XML and RSS feeds
- Hosting: Managed multiple domain names, hosting and email accounts
To help promote to sale of Henley & Barr's products, I have also added an automated XML feed of the items which is uploaded to Google Base on a daily basis.
As well as designing and developing an e-commerce website in the 5 day time-scale, functionality of the administration tools provided members of staff to log in and manage content such as:
- Website navigation and content
- Add, edit and delete product content
- View and manage online orders
- Produce on-the-fly Adobe PDF invoices
- Manage users and groups
Henley & Barr allowed Hardbyte to trial some new functionality developed for the admin tools which allows on-the-fly invoices to be produced, downloaded and printed that folds to display the customers name and address. With this enclosed into see-through sticky-back envelopes and attached to the goods, it saves Henley & Barr time in printing labels and also provides the customer with a printed invoice.
Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Google Base and Yahoo Site Feeds are also implemented.
This is the first release of Henley & Barr's website and a phase two approach is already in progress ready for future product launches.
